SAVE YOU-track I wrote and recorded for my friend Vi, who tragically took her own life because of depression- I didn’t get there in time.

SAVE YOU
Poisonous words,

They kept me down,

Echoes of enemies,

Seemed to gather round,

I kept on listening,

Until you told me not to,

I’m just sorry I couldn’t do the same For you,

If you see a lifetime,

As an ever-changing book,

I highlighted good times ahead,

Why couldn’t you take a look?

I tried to make you smile,

But all was in vain,

I’m just sorry over again
People try and tell me,

How ‘it’s not your fault’

And ‘how can you help somebody,

Who wants to be alone?’

But I could see all your chapters Ahead,

What kept you from turning the page?

I’m just sorry I couldn’t save you too,

I’m sorry I couldn’t save you
I hope where you are now,

They’re teaching you to fly,

So you hover over me,

Every time I cry,

And that’s what I miss you for,

If I need, you’re by my side.

I’m just sorry I couldn’t make it alright.
People try and tell me,

How ‘it’s not your fault’

And ‘how can you help somebody,

Who wants to be alone?’

But I could see all your chapters Ahead,

What kept you from turning the page?

I’m just sorry I couldn’t save you too,

I’m sorry I couldn’t save you
Your words of wisdom embedded deep within my soul,

‘The road is long, just keep your nerve, got far to go’

That you won’t leave me,

You kept your word,

I’m just sorry you got so hurt,

You got so hurt
People try and tell me,

How ‘it’s not your fault’

And ‘how can you help somebody,

Who wants to be alone?’

But I could see all your chapters Ahead,

What kept you from turning the page?

I’m just sorry I couldn’t save you too,

I’m sorry I couldn’t save you
